Coat of arms of Indonesia is the Garuda Pancasila with the motto Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. Shield
The shield is the shield that has long been known in the culture and civilization of Indonesia as part of arms symbolising the struggle, defense and self-protection to achieve the goal.
In the middle of the shield there is a thick black line depicting the equator which describes the location of the unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, namelytropical countries crossed by the Equator extending from East to West.

Ribbon inscribed with the motto Bhinneka Tunggal Ika
Both paws clutching the Garuda Pancasila a white band inscribed with "Bhinneka Tunggal Ika" is black.
The motto Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Kakawin Sutasoma is an excerpt from the work of Mpu Tantular. The word "diverse" means a diverse or varied, the word "single" means one, the word "ika" mean it. Bhinneka Tunggal Ika literallytranslated "Wide One", which means something different though but in fact stillis a unity, that among the pusparagam nation of Indonesia is one of unity.
